MEET
REV. STEVE DYER AND FAMILY
Originally from Bloomington, IN, Steve grew up in Central Florida on the Gulf of Mexico and graduated from
Florida State University with a degree in Biology.
Considering a call to be a missionary, he attended Columbia Biblical Seminary and received a Masters of Divinity.
After discerning missions was not his calling, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary studying the New Testatment,
and receiving his Masters of Theology. He also studied at the University of Virginia, Duke and Fuller Seminary, and
taught biblical studies for a time.
Steve has spent the last 18 years serving four churches, where he loves being with people and working with the church —
especially getting to know others, preaching, and teaching. He has been a pastor in Shreveport, LA for the last ten years.
His wife, Julia, received her degree in nursing from UNC, Chapel Hill, and is a RN who will be looking for work. Their son, Charles,
is currently a freshman at UVA, and their daughter, Stephanie, will be entering the eighth grade in the fall.
