Let's Celebrate Our Grandparents at Summit!
Summit will recognize and honor grandparents on Sunday, September 7th, during the 10:00 a.m. Worship Service.
Summit looks forward to honoring grandparents and hopes that if you have grandparents who live locally and do not attend
Summit, you will invite them to our service. For families who do not have grandparents living locally, please consider adopting
a grandparent for the day. Is there someone with whom you have a special relationship, who has been a mentor to you, who needs
to feel God's love and word, or who could simply use a pick-me-up? No matter what age they may be, bring them to our worship
service and picnic afterwards. Let's celebrate this special relationship with grandparents and recognize the important role
they play in our families. See you then!
DID YOU KNOW THAT?
Grandparents Day was established in 1970 by West Virginia housewife Marian McQuade and signed into proclamation by President
Jimmy Carter in 1978? Grandparents Day is observed the Sunday after Labor Day by millions throughout the United States? September
was chosen because it signifies the autumn years of life? The Forget-Me-Not flower is the official flower of National Grandparents Day?
