Welcome to Summit Presbyterian Church!  Now into our 26th year as a church family, we have come a long way since that first day when a few of our charter members stood atop the crest of our hill admiring the beautiful view.  Together they envisioned this church on the summit being a beacon in Stafford County and they realized the most appropriate name for it….. Summit.  Since that time, our family of God has grown, both in numbers and in our faith in Jesus Christ as we continually strengthen and challenge one another.

Like any family, we are a blend of ages and situations – from young and growing families, to military families, to couples whose children have grown and started families of their own, to retired folks, and to singles in various stages of their lives.  We are also composed of many denominational backgrounds, emphasizing what we have in common rather than how we differ.  As a result, we are a church family that enjoys fellowship in an atmosphere of diversity, tolerance and working together to glorify God.

Our vision at Summit Presbyterian Church is to "seek to be a caring Christian family, to know God and to live God's will." We do this through the many opportunities we have at Summit to worship and glorify God during our weekly worship services, our participation in a variety of Bible study and Christian Education programs, our involvement with our faith community on a local, national and international level, our faithful giving of time, talent and resources, and our emphasis upon meeting the needs of our children and youth so that they may be nurtured in Christian faith and values.   

In order to help our visitors understand more fully about our church and its Presbyterian heritage, we offer an Inquirers' and New Members' Class at multiple times throughout the year for all individuals, couples and families.  We welcome this opportunity to meet with you and answer any questions you may have. We are excited about what God has in store for us as our plans to expand and renovate our building move 'Forward in Faith' and as we watch our membership grow and change from that time 26 years ago.  We invite you to join us and worship with us soon!  Until then, may the Lord bless and keep you and all of your house.
