Meet Our Staff

  Rev. Steve W. Dyer, Pastor

Born in Bloomington, Indiana, Steve grew up on the Gulf of Mexico in Central Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Biology.

Considering a call to be a missionary, he attended Columbia Biblical Seminary where he received a Masters of Divinity degree. To continue his education and discerning God’s plan to work with local congregations, he attended Princeton Theological Seminary studying the New Testament and receiving his Masters of Theology. He has studied at the University of Virginia, Duke, and Fuller Seminary and taught biblical studies and all aspects of religion at the college and graduate level.

Steve loves being with people and working with the church — especially getting to know others, looking to the future, preaching, and teaching. He came to us in 2007 from Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, Louisiana where he was pastor for ten years.  His hobbies are spending time with family, travel, computers and visiting his son at college.

His wife Julia received her Bachelors degree in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and is a RN at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg. Their son Charles is currently a student at the University of Virginia and is preparing to work as a doctor in world health. Their daughter Stephanie is an artist and a student at North Stafford High School.
