SMALL GROUPS
Many of the members and friends of Summit enjoy getting together for fun and fellowship. We have the Graduates for those who enjoy retirement, the Empty Nesters for those who are still employed but have no children living at home, the Prime Timers for those who are in their 20s and 30s, monthly Men’s Breakfasts (on the first Sunday here at the church and on the third Thursday at Bob Evans at Stafford Market Place), and the Women’s Fellowship, also known as Presbyterian Women.
The Presbyterian Women have planned activities such as the Fall Tea, Share the Warmth Day, spring weekend retreat, and Birthday Luncheons. We visit the Presbyterian Group Home, a residential facility supported by the PCUSA, on the 4th Tuesday of each month. We participate in a Christmas Party for the Group Home and also have an Easter celebration. For more information concerning the Presbyterian Group Home, call the church office.
The Presbyterian Women have also sponsored the Coats for Kids drive in which people
in the church and community provide new or gently used coats for Stafford County Elementary Schools.
We would like to thank everyone who donated a new or gently used coat for the 2009/2010 Coats for Kids initiative. With everyone's help we were able to deliver over 54 coats to five Stafford County schools, including Barrett, Falmouth, Head Start, Park Ridge Elementary. We also delivered coats to H. H. Poole Middle School
We would like to thank Penny Einarsen for heading up our Coats For Kids program. If you would like to learn more about Coats for Kids you can e-mail Penny at artypen@comcast.net.
